Featuring MuseARt

Today we feature MuseARt, an amazing app Salvador Sanchez has developed and I recommend you all.

MuseARt is the first application that combines art with the most advanced technologies of AUGMENTED REALITY, TEXT TO SPEECH and IMAGE RECOGNITION in REAL TIME.

With dozens of artworks from The Prado Museum, The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and The Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid.

MuseARt is an essential application for art lovers and for those who want to have their own audioguide when visiting a museum.

This is a collection of artwork ordered by museums, exhibitions, galleries and specific collections created by the world’s major museums.

But that’s not all: MuseARt has an AUGMENTED REALITY interface that directly identifies each artwork through the camera device, displaying in real time all the information associated with it, including the audioguide in English and Spanish, made with text to speech technology with high quality interpretation and diction, provided by the latest technology in text recognition and human intonation existing in the market.

The advantage of image identification system built into the application represents a significant advance in the currently existing audioguides and do not need to manually enter any identifier: only focusing the camera to the artwork achieve the identification, and visitors are not distracted by entering data into the device. This image identification system is the result of extensive research in Augmented Reality, making it more human and closer to the user.

The application is constantly evolving, including regular updates of artworks, exhibitions, new museums around the world and their respective audioguides.

Each artwork has a high definition version that you can download for later reference even without network connection.

MuseARt features:

  1. No need to be connected to the data network: when you install the application, the database and the contents are downloaded from the internet, but the use of the application does not need the connection.
  2. Audioguides and text comments in ENGLISH and SPANISH (other languages are being implemented).
  3. Text To Speech technology with a extremely close to reality and very soft diction.
  4. The contents are updated regularly to include new Museums, Galleries, Exhibitions and Artworks, keeping the application updated over time.
  5. HD images (requires network connection to download data as consulting go, but once downoaded they remain in the device for further consulting).

Salvador says:

I started using Augmented Reality two years ago in a company that needed a geopositioning application. I had to make my own library from scratch and it took me a lot of time.

But with the ARLAB Sdks it is extremely easy to implement AR in my apps. The Image Matching SDK gave me the idea of making MuseARt. Coincidentally I had been working in a company making an audioguide app, Audioguides for museums are a bit uncomfortable to use because you have to enter the artwork’s code manually, distracting the visitor.

But with IM is different. The matching time is extremelly fast (even with a lot of pictures in the pool) and the experience is really nice.

I enyoed testing the application and I hope my customers are happy too.

Relationships with ARLAB were very constructive and they were always by my side helping me to solve all the issues.

Now I am preparing my next application based on the ARLAB’s SDK. I’m waiting for the next ARLAB SDK to appear: the Object Tracking SDK. I have plans for the next app based on this technology.

ARLAB is a kind of company very useful for developers because they offer embedded products and solutions ready to use out-of-the-box and a value for money very interesting.

    That’s a cool app!

No about this post, but where do I download an updated SDK for the ARBrowser ( I have a license )

Also can I change the package name for my license? (Marketing thing)

I also see that you did a beta tester discount for us, but I never received the e-mail for that, if I had I would have purchase the iOS version as well (I originally purchased the android sdk)
